Welcome Mount Baker School District Parents and Students.  Please read the information below to better understand our new FAMILY ACCESS system.

WHAT:  FAMILY ACCESS is a tool that allows parents and students to view their grades, assignments, and attendance records online from home.

WHO:  FAMILY ACCESS is available to all students and parents.

WHEN:  Letters will be sent to all MBHS and MBJH parents in September of 2007, which will include login and password information.  Students will receive logins and passwords at school.

WHY:  We hope that this will be another tool for parents to work with your child(ren) and his/her teachers as they progress through junior high and high school.

A STATEMENT ABOUT GRADE BOOKS

It is important to remember that grade books do not tell the entire story of a student’s progress.  The grades you will be able to view are only a "snapshot" of how a student is progressing.  Consider each teacher’s grade book as a “work in progress,” and that each teacher’s grading procedures are unique.

It is also important to consider that there is a certain amount of time that it takes to grade papers after they are turned in.  Some teachers must grade 180 papers before the grades are posted.  In many cases, teachers will not post grades for family access until all grades have been entered for an individual assignment.

Some classes can go for two or more weeks without assigning and/or grading a significant assignment.  Though teachers will update the online grade book every three weeks, grades and/or assignments may not change in that time period.

The best way to make sense of the grade book is to talk with your student and then contact his/her teacher.

Click here to find out the exact dates that teachers are being asked to update student grades.

If you take 5 minutes to review the information below, we are confident you and your student will be able easily navigate the system.
