The K-12 Math Review Task Force is reviewing the new Washington State math standards and the MBSD mathematics program with a focus on standards and curriculum, in order to submit a materials recommendation to the Superintendent and School Board.

Summary of Task Force Progress

September 14, 2009 - Work on the Math Task Force initiatives continues with a focus on reviewing curriculum materials for K-12 Math Instruction in our District.   The Math Task Force reconvened on September 10th to look at the review results from last spring and gain common understanding of the material options for K-12.  The review process continues this fall.  Task Force meetings will take place on Thursday afternoons.  For more information on this review process, please contact Trina Hall at thall@mtbaker.wednet.edu or by phoning 360-383-2011.

Much of the work accomplished in the school district is the result of committees and task forces as well as through the continuous school improvement processes taking place at each school.  The work of these task force groups will include communication and collaboration with school leadership teams and staff and ongoing input from the community with membership consisting of representatives from various stakeholder groups.   Minutes of meetings will be posted on the district website and input will be solicited periodically throughout the processes.
