Who determines when
school is closed for snow?
The decision to
close school for inclement weather (snow, ice, floods, etc.) is made by Dr. Rick
Gantman, the school district superintendent. In the event that weather
conditions may prevent students from safely traveling to school, a number of
district employees travel the roads in our school district to examine the
conditions personally. Once they have determined the condition of the roads,
the superintendent makes the final decision by 6:00 AM. There are specific
radio and TV stations that are immediately notified as well as all district
employees.
