Why are there no sports through the school?

State law prohibits Inter-scholastic sports for students below Seventh Grade.  All sports for elementary students are sponsored by independent organizations.  There are opportunities for Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, T-ball, Softball, Basketball and Football through out the year.   These organizations are parent sponsored and organized.  Parents determine the level of competition as well as the standards for coaching.  The school district supports those youth sports by providing no cost use of the gym facilities and playfields.  Registration information is distributed to students through the school’s Monday Notes and flyers, also.
