ACME ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In Process:

1.    ASC Packet – Libby retyped the entire document for us.  We will print and distribute copies at the January ASC Meeting!  Great Job Libby!

New Items:

1.    Issue Concern Form – We received an issue concern form from one of the Recess Supervisors.  She was asking that we consider having the Library available at recess for students to use on a select basis. (Passes from recess).  We discussed how the Library Schedule was determined this year by classroom teachers. They selected their library times to best fit into their instructional day.  This was done when creating the master schedule for the building.  Last year we were able to have students go to the library, because we had another paraeducator there to supervise.  This year we needed all of the paraeducators on the playground to maintain students safety.  The Librarian cannot supervise recess students while there is a class receiving a lesson in the library.  We will discuss this issue when we meet in the spring to create schedules for next year.

EOTrimester Big Events - G.Toby Wessel-Magician will be the performer for our Winter Trimester BIG EVENT.  We are still working on performers for the June date.  Ellyn will consult with other elementary principals about scheduling another performance of the Seattle Mime Theater on June 7^th to reduce the cost.  They are not able to come for just one performance without charging extra for travel.

2.    Building Safety Plan – We discussed the Building Safety Plan Process.   We used a model plan used by a neighboring district.   We examined each section of the plan.  We then used the procedures and plans that we have for the various situations and incorporated them into the master plan.  Ellyn will assemble the pieces and get them ready for our review in January
