New Topics: New Meeting Dates: We will be meeting from 8:00 – 8:30 am on the following Wednesdays: April 30, May 14, May 21 & June 4.
In Process: Where we have been – Configuration: We have had two meetings to discuss the options available for the coming year. The last meeting was an open discussion to ask and answer questions in an informal setting. The concerns were how to separate the configuration challenge while waiting for staffing decisions. Don’t we need to know Who will be teaching to determine the What? After much discussion the ALT determined that we really could NOT have any discussion about staffing until the other elementary schools made some decisions and internal openings had been posted. We will need to reduce our classroom teacher number by one full position. Someone may be interested in a position in another building. The steps for those decisions will take awhile: Voluntary Transfer:

In light of the time that the process will require, we decided to go ahead and have the Class Configuration decision next. We need to make a decision and it will be best to have all teachers participate in the process. We talked about how to best facilitate the conversation and the decision. We will have an all staff meeting on Wednesday, April 30th. Planning for that meeting will take place at the ALT meeting that morning.
The plan is to post Plus:Delta Charts in the staff room for the two possible configuration plans: Straight grades in each class: K, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Straight Grades w/ Some combinations: K, 1, 2, ¾, 3/4., 5/6, 5/6.
Hopefully these charts will spark some staff room conversation and discussion.
