Acme Steering Committee Minutes

March 29, 2000

Guests Present: none

New Items:

1. We have 2 new members to our ASC. Lillian Green is our Community Member. Tom Smith is an additional parent member.
2. Vicki Hurd has been keeping inventory on our silverware count. We are loosing about $103 worth of silverware per year. The ASC suggested that we raise the awareness level to the kids. This would be the responsibility of the lunchroom supervisors to remind the kids. Another suggestion was to let the kitchen staff and the lunchroom supervisors come up with a plan.
3. End of the Year Activities: There are two activities which need to be planned for. One is for self-managers, the other is for the students who complete all of the Acme All-Star Attribute activities. We need to do some calling and price-checking for the self-managers celebration - Lynden Skating Rink, Sportsplex, Burlington Skating Rink. Michelle will call Burlington. Lillian will call Lynden Skating Rink and Sportsplex. Chris will give Tubetime a call as well. We'll follow up next meeting.

Acme All-Star Attribute Celebration - we brainstormed some ideas for this celebration. Magician, The Gym Bus, Sartus Wildlife Center, Ropes Course, Special Assembly, Zoo, High School Drama doing skits, it needs to be something special here at Acme…. We're going to bring ideas to our meeting next week.

In Process:

1. We did create and will distribute a teacher survey re: the new breakfast plan. The survey results are in. Ellyn shared the information. Generally the change has been positive. There are a few things that need to be modified to make it more effective in the classroom.
2. Class Configuration surveys were sent in the mail to each family. Lillian took the responsibility to stuff all of the envelopes to get them mailed out soon. (Yeah Lillian! J ) They are due back into the office April 7^th.
