April 5, 2000

Members Present: Erika Alexander, Ellyn Erickson, Bob Baker, Michelle Anderson, Lillian Green, Tom Smith, and Kim Sutherland

New Items:

A. An issue concern was brought to the ASC. The issue is that the boys are urinating on the floor and walls rather than in the urinal. The smell that this causes is horrific in the building. It seems to be happening mostly after 2^nd lunch which is the 3^rd/4^th graders. We will let all of the teachers know that they need to raise the awareness in their classes and talk about proper bathroom usage. Another idea is to have kids sign out at lunch.

In Process:

Lillian contacted Lynden Skateway. The school rate is $2.00/person for the four-wheeled skates. Adults are free. They will not close the snack bar but there are no outside food or beverages allowed. At the Sportsplex, the group rate is $3.00/child or you could rent the ice for $100/hour.

Michelle contacted Burlington Skating Rink - Chaperones are free. The snack bar will be closed. The price was $3.50/child.

We've decided that K-1 will go rollerskating. Grades 3-5 will go ice skating. The ice skaters will go to Sportsplex. We are still gathering and price checking information with the roller rinks. Ellyn and Michelle will continue to check and make the reservations.

Lillian contacted Parties Plus for the All-Star Attribute Party. She shared information which was sent to her. We will continue to gather ideas and information to share at our next meeting.
