The SSN will help you find a variety of opportunities to use your talents and interests in a way that will benefit you and your community.
Looking for some help in narrowing down your career interests??? These on-line career interest surveys may be helpful for you. Don't Forget!!! Students can access the 'Choices' Interest Profiler on the school's network. Both students and parents can access the Career Matchmaker from Career Cruising (see Parent page). The Career Interests Game from Missouri University allows students to match their interests and skills with similar careers using a personality inventory developed by Dr. John L. Holland.

Career Voyager: This career exploration site is sponsored by the Department of Labor. This is an excellent site for searching the fastest growing careers. You can search by industry for careers in your field of interest. You can search by fastest growing careers, or you can search by state to locate the fastest growing careers in your state. Amby's Work Site Career Exploration: This site is full of links to other web pages with career information, interest, skills and abilities testing. WorkSource Career Information: This is a section of the WorkSource site that has a wealth of career related information. It links to you America's Career INFONET in addition to linking you to the following information specifically for Washington State; Fastest Growing Jobs by county, Occupational Wage Rates, Employer Listings, Educational Programs and MUCH MORE! Occupational Outlook Handbook : This is an on-line version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook which is updated every two years by the U.S. Department of Labor. You will find comprehensive information on approximately 250 of the most predominate occupations in the United States. You can locate job titles by performing a keyword search, using an alphabetical index or choosing from six broad job clusters. Military Career Guide Online from the DOD (Department of Defense) Center outlines employment opportunities in the different branches of the military and gives details on 152 enlisted and officer occupations. Each branch of the military also maintains a recruiting site with career information. Careers in Biotechnology: Gives a great description of the biotechnology and the various jobs in this fast growing field. It also includes interviews with biotechnology leaders. How to Become an Engineer: sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers describes engineering careers and outlines educational requirements. 50 Engineers You Should Meet profiles engineers with interesting stories, and A Sightseers Guide to Engineering shows sites all over the country that highlight "how engineers turn ideas into reality." Environmental Careers, Internships and Scholarships from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency links to career resources in the environmental field. Healthcare, Careers & Schools in Washington State from the Western Washington Area Health Education Center links to health care career descriptions and schools in western Washington that provide training in addition to many other related resources. EXCELLENT SITE!!!! Tomorrow's Doctors: Considering a Career in Medicine from the Association of American Medical Colleges offers information on medical careers and preparing for college and medical school. Marine Science Careers from Sea Grant profiles and gives salary information for marine biologists, oceanographers, ocean engineers, and professionals in related fields. Aquatic Science Career Information from the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography profiles employment opportunities, job outlook, earnings, and working conditions for aquatic scientists.
