Senior Year "To DO" List if You Are Planning to Enter the Military:

September:

bulletIf you are interested in attending a military academy or entering the ROTC program after graduation you should already have test scores or register for the October SAT or ACT. Apply to Academies (you can get specific information in the Career Center). You can apply and be accepted and not have to make a commitment yet. Research which national colleges offer ROTC programs.
bulletRepresentatives from the various military branches are regularly on campus so check the daily bulletin and Career Center Calendar in the hall for their schedule. Begin asking for specific information from them.  Check out the Military section of this website for helpful information.
bulletUpdate your Student Information Form.

October:

bulletBegin compiling information for your resume.
bulletNovember:
Come to the Career Center and use the Military Careers Catalogues to research the various occupational opportunities and training available. Find out which branches offer training opportunities in your field of interest.

December:

bulletApply to colleges with the ROTC programs you are interested in (use the same timeline as college bound students).

January:

bulletResearch the different educational plans offered by the various military branches.

February:

bulletContinue to develop employment skills. Meet with your counselor to make sure you are taking AND passing all the classes you need to graduate. Locate specific employers in your field of interest military or civilian and set up a "Job Shadow" experience.

March - June:

bulletTake the ASVAB test offered on our campus in March if you haven't already taken it. Continue meeting with the military recruiters.  Use your ASVAB results to locate occupations within your interest areas. What military occupations also have civilian components?
