Seussville - Welcome to Dr. Seuss' quirky, rhyming online playground.  It's a place where those favorite characters from Dr. Seuss' books come to life to engage, educate and entertain kids. The site features interactive Shockwave games, printable games, flipbooks, crafts, contests, and chat (with the Cat in the Hat, no less).
Authors on the Web - Click on the Mark Twain link and you'll see a link to the complete text of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" - on a John Steinbeck link there is a scholarly synopsis of "The Grapes of Wrath" and "Of Mice and Men."  Dozens of authors are linked here. 
Dictionary.com - If you're among the grammatically challenged, this may be the site for you.  This site is a hub for all the top dictionaries, thesauri, and stylebooks, and it also offers some basic English language tutorials.
English Consulting - Answers to common questions (is it "it's" or "its")
Merriam-Webster - Online dictionary and thesaurus - can't find your dictionary?  Look it up online in Webster's!
Online Books Home Page - A directory of books that can be freely read right on the Internet
Shakespeare Homepage - The complete works of William Shakespeare - including search capabilities (look up "to be, or not to be; that is the question" - it's in Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 1 - hyperlink to that section and find the complete text.
