Harmony's Courtyard

Current Progress Vegetation Wildlife

HOME PAGE

Welcome to the courtyard of Harmony Elementary School. We are using an exterior area that lies between the two wings of our school building to create a habitat for vegetation and wildlife.
We hope to use this area as an outdoor classroom for studying plants and wildlife and how they interact.
We are planting different kinds of vegetation in order to attract a variety of birds, squirrels, butterflies, bees, frogs, toads, and insects.
At this web site you can view pages that have information about the vegetation that we have planted so far.  There is also information about vegetation that could be planted later by other students.  You can also view pages about the wildlife that we hope to attract and occasionally view.

And there are pages that show the progress we have made so far in developing this area.  We continue to work on it.
The same is true of this web site -- it is an ongoing process.  We hope that students and staff will add to this web site as they learn about the vegetation, do more plantings, care for and maintain the area, and sight birds, insects, amphibians, and other animals.
This web site was started by Mrs. Zurschmiede and one of her students in the Able Learner Program, Rose.
