The District has an opening for a part-time Core Teacher at Mount Baker Junior High School to begin at the start of the 08/09 school year. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, staff, community and administration; utilize developmentally appropriate practices; differentiate instruction for children of all abilities; align curriculum with Washington State Essential Learning Requirements; and team effectively with other teachers and support staff. In particular, the successful candidate will have knowledge of the subject areas and experience in teaching using a variety of teaching methods ranging from skills instruction to project-based instruction. Responsibilities will include group instruction, assessment and data collection. Coaching and co-curricular opportunities available. This is a MBEA represented position.
Qualifications: Washington State Teaching Certificate required; experience in teaching in a Core concept classroom within a block schedule preferred. The successful candidate will provide documentation that he/she meets federal Highly Qualified teacher criteria.

The District has an opening for one or more continuing positions as Elementary Teacher at Harmony Elementary School beginning at the start of the 2008-09 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; be effective in the use of assessment to guide instruction with quality lesson design to maximize student learning; have excellent classroom management strategies that lead to positive interactions with students. Candidate will also demonstrate knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement process, as well as knowledge, understanding and application of best strategies in content area instructional pedagogy. This is a MBEA represented position. Qualifications: Washington State Teaching Certificate required with ability to pass Highly Qualified Teacher criteria in Elementary Education.
