KENDALL SALMON-CAM - The sixth grade classes at Kendall are raising salmon in their classrooms - they'll be released at an appropriate time in the spring. A "salmon-cam" has been set up to watch the development of these hatchlings. Check back frequently to see their progress! BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CHILDCARE Starting January 25th the YMCA is adding Before School daycare at Kendall School. You may call the Y Family Enrichment Director at 733-8630 or stop by Kendall for a packet of information. We currently have children in the afternoon daycare if you want to stop by and talk to the person in charge. This program is DSHS approved and scholarships are available. READY! FOR KINDERGARTEN - Will your child start Kindergarten in the fall of 2010? Read on for information about a free parent education program!
STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM Help you and your child prepare for adolescence and junior high school. Classes will run Monday evenings beginning February 1st for 7 weeks (skipping the week of Feb. 15th) and take place at Mt. Baker Junior High. Spaces are limited. Complimentary dinner for the whole family and childcare for younger family members is provided. The cost is $35 for the entire 7 week session or anywhere between 0-$35 depending on what you are able to pay. The schedule includes:

STUDENT ABSENCES - If your child is going to be absent, please call the school and let us know. A note can also be sent with a sibling. We will be calling the homes daily of all absent students. If you know in advance, you may send a note also. It will save a lot of time for us if we don’t have to call every house of absent students. We can be reached @ 360-383-2055. Dedicated in August, 1999 Kendall Elementary is nestled in the beautiful
foothills of the Mt. Baker National Forest.
It provides educational services for over 500 pre-school through 6th
grade students, including Special Education.
It is staffed by more than 70 supportive adults.
The diverse ethnic population is both multicultural and multiracial,
including Caucasian, Native American, Hispanic, and Asian.
ESL services are provided for close to 20% of the student body, with
a major emphasis on Russian to English.
Truly a rural community facility within the Mt. Baker School District, Kendall Elementary provides a computer lab, library, gymnasium, Music and Art rooms, stage, lunchroom, and extensive outdoor playing fields.
