Kendall Elementary Parents On behalf of other parent volunteers, I would like to invite you to share some of your time, talents and voices with your school community. There are many ways to get involved, and you can choose to do whatever your schedule allows. Here are just a few ideas: 1. Go on a field trip with your child. Field trips are a fun way to get to know teachers and the other children better. 2. Help in a classroom project. This is another way to get to know others, and your time and efforts will be appreciated. 3. Attend PTA/PTO meetings. Your ideas and input are extremely valuable. The more of us attend, the better we are represented. 4. Help out on a school-wide event. You can commit a little time or a lot, but the rewards are worth it for you and your school. Many lasting friendships with other parents are made here. Some of these parents are people you wouldn’t meet otherwise. 5. Bake cookies for a bake sale, help in some capacity outside the classroom (e.g. make copies for a teacher) or do something on a small, behind-the-scenes scale. Every little bit helps. These are only a few ideas of ways that you can participate at school. On a personal note, as I come to the end of my 9th year of association with Kendall Elementary, I have to say volunteering has been enriching and well worth the effort. I believe it can be for you as well. Sincerely, a Kendall Parent | ||||
