Planning for school year 2008-09

It is hard to believe we only have 2 months of school left when we have snow on the ground!

However, we are already planning for the next school year and it becomes very helpful if we know who will not be returning to Kendall.  If you plan on moving please let the school know.

It is also very helpful if you know of someone that will be moving into our area or if they have a Kindergarten student to enroll.

We have Classroom Environment forms available at the office for parents that would like to request a specific learning environment for their child. Our staff always considers the needs of the children first when placing them with the teacher for the following year, but if you have specifics we need to be aware of you will want to fill out a form.

KENDALL ELEMENTARY COMPOST NEWS! - Our school continues to excel with our composting efforts. In April we collected over 5 and half cubic yards of compostable materials. That’s almost the amount that fits into our weekly garbage collection. This calculates out to a composting rate of over 17%. Each person’s “average pounds diverted” was over 1.7 pounds for the month. That is pretty darned good!

KINDERGARTEN 08/09 - It’s time to start thinking about Kindergarten registration for next year.  If you have a kindergarten student for next year, or know of any in your neighborhood, please call the office @ 383-2055 and let us know. We will send a packet to the family.

PARENTS - GET INVOLVED! - A letter from an active parent sharing some ways in which other parents can get involved.

SCHOOL PERFORMANCE REPORT FOR KENDALL ELEMENTARY - OSPI provides a "report card" for every school in the state.  WASL scores and demographic data about our district are provided.  Follow this link to get data about Kendall Elementary.

WHATCOM ALLIANCE FOR HEALTHCARE ACCESS - Does your family need access to affordable health care?  The Mount Baker School District has partnered with WAHA and DSHS to help families access affordable health care for children.
