What is the Mount Baker Academy
The Mount Baker Academy is a Parent Partnership Program designed to support home-schooling families.   While recognizing parents as primary educators, the MBA offers a variety of educational options including consultation and academic assessment, an eclectic variety of workshops, classes and courses for students and parents, educational resources and materials, and a supportive community of fellow home educators.  An allocation of up to $1,500 per student is available to support families as they educate their student through the purchasing of educational materials, instructional fees, and lessons from other sources.

I love the staff, and their openness to learning about homeschooling, accepting feedback, keeping a dialogue going. One of my biggest fears about this program was that you all would come at this from a “homeschooling is defective” approach, and try to tell me how to teach my kids when I already think we’re making a pretty good go of it. No worries so far. I like the flexibility you offer, even in terms of being more “hands off” if that’s what a family wants.
