Challenge:
To build a device that can protect an egg from breaking when dropped from the
top of the bleachers.
Materials:
1 Piece 8.5" x 11" card stock
1 Piece 8.5" x 11" plain paper
1 Pipette Tip
1 mini-Pipette
1m String
1 Straw
1 Sani-Sip Straw with wrapper
1 Tooth Pick
1 Kim-Wipe
1 Plastic Weighing Dish
A minimal amount of white glue (No "Gorilla Glue")
Limitations:
Device may only be made from the materials listed above.
Device must have an attachment point to allow for the device to be hoisted to the top of the bleachers on a string attached to a bent paper clip.
Egg must be removable.
Testing:
Preliminary design must be presented in a rough draft three-view drawing before materials are dispensed.
Egg will be placed inside your device.
Device will be hoisted to the top of the bleachers.
Device will be dropped from the top of the bleachers.
Egg must be removed completely intact. Shell may not be cracked or broken.
Data:
Physical characteristics of your device must be collected (height, length, depth, mass, weight, etc)
Physical dimensions of your device must be detailed in a three-view drawing.
