CALIFORNIA SCIENCE TRIP 2008

Friday

Today, Friday, we traveled the short distance to downtown San Jose to the Tech Museum of Innovation.  It had two floors of hands-on technology-type activities and an Imax movie, Forces of Nature, about volcanoes, earthquakes and tornados (two of which could occur in our part of the world!)  After lunch we stretched our legs at the San Juan Batista Mission and walked a short distance along the San Andreas Fault, then rode on to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Sea otters, sharks, giant tuna, jellyfish, penguin and lots of invertebrates were just some of the creatures of the deep we observed.  Many of us ate dinner at Bubba Gump's on Cannery Row...shrimp cooked just about any way you can imagine.
