Friday morning after a quick breakfast poolside we headed to the San Jose Tech Museum, another hands-on approach to science. The students could design a roller coaster, bicycle, robot, etc. and program robotic arms to do all sorts of things.

Downstairs at the tech museum was too dark for photos but they could explore space, earthquakes, and a whole array of modern inventions. For lunch many went to Johnny Rocket's, a 50's retro burger joint.

Can you tell Krystal (birthday girl today) and Katelyn are standing on the San Andreas fault? That is why the ground drops off 30 feet behind them. We're at the San Juan Bautista Mission, a beautifully maintained mission built in the later 1700's.

Last stop, Monterey Bay Aquarium, where the students could pet bat rays, watch a diver feed fish and sharks that live in the kelp beds, see an 11 pound lobster, jellyfish of every size and color, seahorses, and my favorite, sea otters.
