TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM OF INNOVATION

Our last day in the bay area kept us in San Jose.
Our main science stop today was at the Technology Museum of Innovation.
The inventions that were displayed were impressive and interactive.
The ball toy greeted us outside of the museum, and we could have watched
it for an hour. Inside there were bobsled simulators, a space
jet-pack simulator, remote control submarine, and dozens of other
exhibits. |

SAN JOSE CINCO DE MAYO PARADE

Just that morning, we found out that we were to arrive
in downtown San Jose at the same time as their annual Cinco De Mayo
Parade. Some people stepped out and were greeted with colorful
floats, wonderful music, and a fun introduction to Hispanic
culture. |

SAN JOSE WATER SCULPTURE (?)

While we were waiting for our bus to arrive, we walked
across the street to this water display. Yes, where there is
water, eighth graders will get wet. |

HURRY UP AND WAIT - AIRPORT

Time to go home - more hurry up and wait time.
The science group passed the time by playing cards, reading the
newspaper, listening to music, hiding behind garbage cans (?!) |

FLYING TIME

After the roller coaster at the Boardwalk, the kids
had to put their hands up in the air when the plane took off - just like
riding a roller coaster. Seriously, at least one flight attendant
went on and on about how polite and good-natured our kids were on the
flight. They've seen other groups of kids on their flights, and
they were very impressed. Way to go, Mount Baker Junior High!!!!! |

TOMORROW
Back to school.
Thanks so much to science teacher Judy Dietzen for
organizing this trip for 13 years. It continues to be an
inspirational trip for so many MBJH students. |
