Drum Major History

The success of a Marching Band can depend upon the quality of the leadership.  We honor those who have led the MBHS Mountaineer Band throughout the years with dignity and class.  We do not have a complete list - we'll be doing some research throughout the years to "fill in the blanks" with the names of MBHS Drum Majors.

If you are a band alumnus, and you can provide us with the names of the drum majors for specific years, we would be appreciative!  Send the names and years to Band Director Doug Sutton at dougs@mtbaker.wednet.edu.  Thanks!

Quote from an alumnus from the 1940's:  "In 1945 we had 66 band members (counted in the picture).  During the war years there was no marching band and no drum majors. As I recall, Willie Lou Robertson was not into marching.  I have talked to several of my class members and find no reference into a drum major."

We'll go back as far as we can find the names.
