11th grade Discover Card Tribute Award $500 - $2,500 Applicants must be 11th grade students with a 2.75 GPA.. 11th grade Questbridge College Prep varies This scholarship is open to JUNIORS. QuestBridge will award scholarship packages to more than 800 students. Packages will include one or more of the following: Full Scholarships to College Summer School Programs: QuestBridge will provide counseling to 10 students to support their applications to Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Notre Dame or Yale University's summer school programs. 11th Grade Only Nordstrom Scholarship $10,000 Applicant must be an 11th grade student. Student must have financial need, a minimum 2.7 GPA or higher and be eligible to attend a four-year college or university in the US. Scholarship is open to all majors. The winning students will be awarded $2,500 each year for four years. Application requires an essay, financial information, letter of recommendation, community service and a personal statement. 12th gr essay AFA Teens for Alzheimer's Awareness College Scholarship $250 - $5,000 Applicant must be a graduating senior and a US citizen or permanent resident. Applicant must complete an AFA Teens scholarship application form, write a personal (200 word) biography , submit an official high school transcript, and write a 1,200 - 1,500 word essay. 12th gr Essay Freedom in Academia Essay Contest $2,500 - $5,000 Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) sponsors this essay contest for high school seniors. Students are encouraged to write an in-depth essay explaining why free speech and 1st Amendment rights are crucial to higher education and how abuses of these rights harm the college experience. 4-H related Washington State University,College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences State 4-H Scholarship varies There are several scholarships available to students who have applied to WSU and have been involved with 4-H. 4-H related Washington State 4-H Scholarships varies Applicants must have been members of 4-H and planning to continue their education beyond high school. 7th - 12th essay Association of Washington Generals Essay Contest $150 - $850 All students in Washington State grades 7 - 12 are eligible to enter. Must write an essay on the topic program has different scholarship application requirements. 1/31/2003  
9th - 12th essay It's Always Something Writing Contest $2,500 This contest invites students 9th - 12th grade to share their stories about cancer in personal essays of 500 to 2,000 words. Their stores can be about their own experience of personal diagnosis or about their experience with a diagnosis of a loved one, schoolmate, friend, or perhaps about cancer in the abstract as it relates to them. 9th - 12th essay NRMCA High School Essay Contest $500 This essay contest is open to 9th - 12th grade students who are willing to write a 600 word essay. Accounting Accountants of Tomorrow Merit Scholarship $500 Whatcom County high school seniors who plan to pursue a four year degree in accounting (includes transfer degree students). Other criteria: leadership, academic performance, civic and personal achievement. 4/24/2009  
Achievement American Civil Liberties Union Youth Activist Scholarship $7,000 Applicant must have demostrated a strong commitment to civil liberties. Applicants must also be planning on entering an accredited college or university and have a cumulative high school GPA or 3.0. Demonstrated financial need will also increase the student's chances of qualifying for the scholarship. Achievement AXA Achievement Scholarship Program $10,000 Applicant must plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college. To qualify, students should be well-rounded, determined to do their personal best and have demonstrated achievement--at a job, sport or extracurricular activity. Achievement Best Buy Scholarship varies Each Best Buy store will award scholarships for $1000 to $2000 to students living in a 50 mile radius. Scholarship recipients are selected based on community service and academic achievement and must be entering an accredited U.S. university, college or technical school in the fall immediately after graduation. Achievement Boston Univ. Trustee Scholarship (Boston U) varies Student must be applying to Boston University. Must send teacher recommendation and test scores. Achievement Central Washington University Scholarships (CWU) Varies This application covers a large variety of scholarships available to qualifying students planning to attend CWU. Achievement Lewis & Clark College Merit Scholarships (LCC) full tuition & fees, A variety of merit based scholarships are available at Lewis & Clark College. Student must submitt all credentials required for a completed application for admission to the College. 2/1/2006  
Achievement Linfield College Competitive Scholarship Day varies The Competitive Scholarship Day is geared toward seniors in high school who have achieved outstanding academic records and test scores and intend to apply to Linfield. Students must apply to compete. 2/17/2006  
Achievement Montana State University Presidential Scholarship varies Student must be planning to attend MSU and demonstrate academic achievement, intellectual or creative distinctions, and extracurricular activities. Students must have a min.GPA of 3.75 and ACT 30 or SAT 1320 scores. 1/14/2003  
Achievement Toyota Community Scholars Program varies Student must be nominated by counselors. Applicants must be high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have actively been involved in a service organization or project that has a positive impact on their school or community. Student must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university. 12/1/2008  
Achievement R.C. Easley National Scholarships varies Applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to pursue a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in an accredited four-year academic program. You have to send away for the application. 2/1/2006  
Affiliation Rome Grange Scholarship $500 Must be a student from Mt. Baker or a relative of either a past or present member of Rome Grange . Financial need, leadership and scholarship are the criteria. Requires 3 letters of recommendation. 5/11/2009  
Affiliation Washington Burglar & Fire Alarm Assoc. Youth Scholarship $1,000 Must be a graduating senior applying to an accredited college or university who's parent or guardian is a full-time active employee of a police department or full-time paid or volunteer member of a fire department in Washington state. 3/31/2009  
Affiliation Whatcom County Farm Bureau Scholarship $500 Must be a son, daughter or legal dependent of a Farm Bureau family with a current membership. All majors accepted. 4/3/2009  
Affiliation Combat Veterans International Scholarship Fund $1,000 Applicant must be a son or daughter of a veteran of the US Military and be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at a four or two year university or at a technical college. 5/31/2009  
Affiliation Deming Logging Show Auxiliary Scholarship $300 Must be a senior from a Whatcom County high school planning to attend a technical college, community college or university. Preference given to students related to someone in the logging industry. Two scholarships will be awarded. 5/6/2009  
Affiliation Northwest Farm Credit Services Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must be a son or daughter of a current Northwest Farm Credit Services customer planning to pursue higher education. GPA, leadership and extra-curricular activities will also be considered. Twenty-four $1,000 scholarships are awarded yearly. 3/15/2007  
Affiliation Daughters of Norway Scholarship varies Applicant must have already completed one full year of college level courses with a 2.7 GPA or better in order to apply. Recipient must also be a member of the Daughters of Norway or be related to a member. Applicant can be attending a vocational college, community college or university.    
Affiliation -Multiple Sclerosis O'Donnell Family Foundation Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must have multiple sclerosis or be a child of someone with multiple sclerosis who will be attending any accredited post secondary school for the first time. Applicants must also be from Washington State. Other criteria for selection will be financial need, academic record, leadership and community and school activities. Affiliation--Harley Davidson Mt. Baker Chapter (HOG) Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must be a graduating senior who is college or university bound. Applicant must have a guardian or close relative (only: parent, grandparent, uncle/aunt, sibling who owns a Harley Davidson motorcycle that is in working order) --it is not necessary that this relative or guardian live in Washington. 3/13/2009  
Affiliation-PSE Public School Employees Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must be a dependent of a PSE member. Ten scholarships will be awarded. Selection of all scholarships are based on financial need; applicant's personal goals, GPA, and letter of recommendation. Affliliation Washington Assoc. of Educational Grant Managers $2,500 Graduating senior who received special assistance from Chapter 1, Chapter 1 Migrant, Learning Assistance Program, Bilingual, ESL and /or Indian Education. Agricultural Careers in Agriculture Scholarship $1,000 Student must be planning to pursue training for careers in agriculture. The awards are based on scholastic achievement, potential leadership in agriculture, and an ability to contribute to agriculture in the future. 3/1/2006  
Agriculture Dick Rightmire Memorial Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must be a State FFA Degree recipient who is planning to attend a 4-year university or 2-year community college or technical school pursuing an agricultural degree or certificate. 4/16/2007  
Agriculture Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship $1500 Applicant must be a graduating senior whose family is actively engaged in production agriculture. Student must plan to attend a technical school, community college or university majoring in an agricultural related major. Art Art Institute of Seattle Culinary Scholarship varies Applicant must plan to attend the Art Institute of Seattle's Culinary Arts program. Applicant must submit a notebook, essay and letters of recommendation. 2/25/2003  
Art Young Arts Scholarship varies Open to graduating high school seniors artists in the performing, literary and visual arts. Participants must be citizens or permanent residents of the US. Registration is accepted in the following: Cinematic Arts, Dance, jazz, Music, Photography, Theater, Visual Arts, Voice, and Writing. Art competiton Chapel of Four Chaplains National Art Contest $500 - $1,000 Applicants must be a graduating senior. Any form of two dimensional art, except photography is eligible. The artwork must reflect the theme "Making the World a Better Place Through Service and Sacrifice". It must be original artwork, conceived and created by the student. Art related Art Institute of Seattle Scholarship Competition (AIS) varies Must be a high school graduate planning to enter one of the Art Institutes program areas. Each program has different scholarship application requirements. 4/1/2003  
Art related Robert B McMillen Foundation Art Scholarship Full tuition This is a renewable full tuition scholarship for any student who wishes to further their education in Washington or Alaska, majoring in an area of Visual Arts. Although need and merit will be considered, 70% of their selection is based on talent and potential in the art area. Asthma Schering/Key Asthma Athlete of the Year Scholarship $1,000-$10,000 Graduating seniors with asthma who have achieved both excellence in sports and high academic records. 4/30/2003  
Athletic Susan Anderson & Bob Tisdale Scholarship $500 Applicant must be a Mount Baker student. Criteria include student's athletic involvement, citizenship and GPA. Four awards are given annually. 5/29/2009  
Athletic Whatcom County Student Athlete Todd Curran Memorial Scholarship $5,000 Student must have been involved in some sports activity, community service with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Requires 3 letters of recommendation. 2/17/2010  
Athletic Wendy's High School Heisman Award   Applications are accepted from both male and female student-athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and within their communities. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2009-20010 academic year, who have at least a “B” grade average, and participate in at least one of 33 sports. Athletic - Soccer Whatcom County Youth Soccer Assoc. Academic Scholarship varies Student must be planning to further their education at a community college, technical school or 4 yr. university. They must have participated in the Whatcom County Youth Soccer Association and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. 5/7/2008  
Athletic related career Bev & Wes Stock Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must be a deserving athlete who displays good character both on and off the playing field. Student must be planning to attend college or university in Washington and pursuing an athletic-related career. This scholarship is based on merit and will be looking at student's curriculum, GPA and community service. 6/1/2009

Athletic-Running Greater Bellingham Running Club Scholarship $1,000 Two scholarships are awarded to one qualified senior male and female runner from Whatcom County High Schools. The awards are not based on need but on merit. Extracurricular activities, GPA and letters of recommendation are required. 4/30/2009  
Athletic-Wrestling Graham Baker Morin Memorial Scholarship $3,000 Applicant must be a WA. state resident with a minimum 3.0 GPA who participated in WA High School State Wrestling tournament and is planning to enroll and wrestle in college. Auto Tech Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium Scholarship varies Applicant must be planning to attend a certified automotive technical program. Preference given to students planning to become technician in automotive, collision, heavy duty or agricultural fields; Students planning to work for any automotive aftermarket company; OR students who are sons and daughters offamilies employed in the atuomotive aftermarket. Business NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award $1,000 Applicant must plan to attend either a technical college, community college or four-year college. Chef Johnson & Wales University Chef of the Year Scholarship Contest varies This contest is open to high school juniors and seniors. Following the guidelines contestants submit recipes. If their recipes are chosen they will participte in a cook-off at the university's North Miami Campus. All expenses paid. Winners receive a full-tution scholarship to JWU, a $7,500 renewable scholarship, $5,000 renewable scholarship, or a $3,500 renewable scholarship. Christian Athlete HS Christian Athlete Scholarship $1000 Applicants meet the following criteria: Belives in Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior and attends a church regularly. Is one of the top three male or top three female Christian athletes in their school. Achieves an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Is an active Christian infuluence in his or her school and community. Civil Engineering R.H. Thomson Memorial Scholarship $5,000 Student pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Student must prepare 3 short dissertations addressing career goals, work, educational or life experience and school activities. 2/14/2009

Community Service Fred Smallwood Memorial Scholarship $550 Applicant must display a commitment to their community and plan to enroll as a full time college student. 5/16/2003  
Community Service Community Volunteer Service Award varies Must be a high school senior with considerable volunteer community service. Other criterion considered is academic achievement, work experience, and school activities. Applicant must plan to attend a technical school, community college or four-year college. 3/16/2009  
Community service Prudential Spirit of Community Award $1000 - $5,000 Student must be in grades 5 -12 and have been involved in significant volunteer work. One student is selected from the high school level applicants as a nomination from our high school.
