LEARNING SUPPORT PROGRAM

MOUNT BAKER SCHOOL DISTRICT

Learning Support teachers and Instructional Assistants provide direct and support services to students in need of support in basic academic skills (reading & math). Duties and services include:
bulletAssisting classroom teachers in providing specialized instruction and materials for students in need,
bulletProviding support services (e.g. Progress monitoring, behavior programs, in-class assistance) to individual students, and,
bulletProviding direct instruction (e.g. Tutoring, small group, one on one instruction) to students when necessary.

Learning Support staff is responsible for required program record keeping and an integral part of the student identification - qualification process.  Title I and L. A. P funds support these programs.  Kendall, Acme & Mount Baker Junior High School have Title I school-wide programs.  Each of these schools has Parent Involvement procedures in place, with copies available to parents.  The district Parent Involvement Policy is attached here.
