TOURS

Tours are held at our district site each spring. We are trying to help students make the connection between their classroom recycling, processes involved in recycling, and the end product. About 500 students each year come through the recycling area. The tour also includes the FFA barn and Greenhouse area. Schools outside our district have used us as a resource; taking tours and using our years worth of data.

Students are shown things like a 22 pound block of squished aluminum beverage cans (right).   They all take a guess of how many aluminum cans are in 22 pounds.

Students are also shown examples of products made from recycled items, like t-shirts, rulers, glass art objects, nails, plastic lumber, and tissue paper.

Our local recyclers are generous enough to loan us the props for our tours every year.
