Goals

1. To establish the Internet (World Wide Web) as an academic tool for student learning and research, as well as a teaching tool for educators.

2. To create a new communication tool with students, parents, local community, and the larger educational community.

3. To publish exemplary student work as a resource for other students and as a showcase for the entire internet community.

4. To establish connections with industries, colleges, universities, and other vocations.

 

Acceptable Posting Practices

Three major criteria must be considered when posting material to a web page:

1. the appropriateness of the pages (relating to the above goals)

2. the demand on computing and network services

3. the image of the Mount Baker School District as a school system

 

Specific Guidelines

1. All pages posted must be in compliance with copyright laws.

2. Parent and student permission forms must be signed prior to publishing identifiable student photographs, names, creations (projects, essays, etc.) and e-mail addresses on the Web Site. Forms must be filed with the staff member responsible for publishing the web.

3. Students and parents must grant written permission for their work to be published on the MBSD Internet site.

4. Web pages that use excessive system resources or network bandwidth that hamper the efficient operation of the MBSD Web Site may be temporarily shut down.

5. Posting school events, student pictures, etc. on any web page that is not part of the MBSD website is not allowed and may have legal issues involved.
