Members in attendance:
v Tour of Junior High technology – Adrienne v Bernie Barker’s classroom and the tech lab were seen. v Neal Schlegel demonstrated some hardware and several projects happening in this classroom, primarily the result of the “no-limits” grant.
v Celebrations v One of Virginia’s students while working on pulling clip art into a document remarked, “I love this stuff.”
v Staff development – Tech Mentor Program v Final Tech Mentor presentations to be made to the committee 5/25.
v Inspiration software – costs – Trina v Acme has Inspiration on all 28 lab computers. A few additional copies. Upgrade is requested. v Harmony has 24 in lab. A few additional copies. Upgrade is requested. v Kendall has 44 in lab with about 10 more copies in school. Upgrade is requested. v JH have it in the lab. There are 42 scattered around classrooms. Upgrade and a few copies are necessary. v HS does not have it in the lab. 18 copies are available in classrooms, mostly in science and resource rooms. v Suggestion: v Tech curriculum person learn the program and be able to teach the teachers by example, using that teacher’s students. v Tech committee will pay for staff development; curriculum will pay for the software.
v District Tech Plan – support v Doug walked us through the changes in the 3-year tech plan. v Each person will go through this document by Wednesday, 4/28, and make comments about changes or lack of changes if you think there is a need. v Must go to ESD by Friday, April 30.
v Mount Baker Institute v Pay people to go to Inspiration Training at MBI.
v This is Mark Venn’s last meeting. Thank you, Mark, for your encouraging leadership over the last three years.
v Doug will chair for the rest of the year. Thank you, Doug.
