Significant Accomplishments
We
have developed a skills ladder that provides incentives for teachers to improve
their technology competencies. This concept could be developed for students
also.
Teachers'
technology competencies have significantly improved.
Teachers'
vision of
how they should teach and how their students should learn with technology has
improved. They have developed an attitude of acceptance and anxious excitement for the
future of technology-intensive education. At inservice gatherings we hear them
say often "I can do this!"
A
technology staff development model that focuses on
conceptually embedded activities is in place.
An online course
that
provides opportunities for teachers to engage in staff development and
collaborative activities, both real-time and for remote settings, has been
created through Western Washington University.
Assessment
instruments have been placed online to achieve immediate feedback from teachers
so that data-driven decisions can be made quickly and more efficiently.
Teachers
are beginning to ask how technology skills can be assessed district-wide and
also how they can make sure students are learning technology skills.
