• Why should I join FFA?

Premier leadership, personal growth, career success.  We are the premier leadership organization in the school.  We are intra-curricular (meaning builds on classroom instruction).  We offer more opportunities for students from speaking to debate, mechanics to forestry, floral to dairy products, and sales to food science.  Build your resume, earn scholarships, earn money, earn recognition (watch video on site).

  • How do I join FFA?

Must be enrolled in an ag class for at least one semester each year you are in FFA.  Any class that Mr. Rightmire, Ms. Whitcomb, Mr. Kline teach is an Ag class in addition to Environmental Biology taught by Mrs. Koon.  You must then pay $20 dues to the main office and bring green form from office to one of the 3 ag teachers in room 701 or 702.

  • Do I have to raise an animal?

No, you only do what you want to do.  If you want to earn money, learn responsibility, have fun at the fair then you may want to consider it.  Less than 25% of our members raise an animal.  Those that raise and sell market hog profit over $600 at the Northwest Washington Fair.

  • I'm really busy with sports and other stuff. I don't think I have time do I?

We have had many ASB presidents also serve as FFA President and 3 sport athletes.  Some of the Career Development Events practices are after school which may not work for athletes, but some practices are in the mornings or at 5 pm (after sports).  You do not have to do everything, you can choose what you would like to do.  Trapshooting, raise an animal, do one competition, whatever you think you can do.
