Acme Elementary

Home of the All Stars!

Mission Statement

  • Acme Elementary provides educational opportunities in a safe and nurturing community in which individuals achieve high standards, reach their potential and love learning.

Announcements

  • The Whatcom County Health Department has received many reports of influenza A and gastroenteritis (stomach illness) in the community.  Last week the Bellingham Herald ran an article about the outbreaks and severity of Influenza in our County.

Please remember to practice good hand-washing at home, cover coughs with a sleeve and dispose of tissues in the trash can.

If your child has a fever, please keep them home.  Provide rest and lots of healthy fluids like water, soups or broth and warm teas.

If your child has diarrhea or is throwing-up, please keep them home for 24 hours after the last episode.

Remember that students should be fever free for 24-hours without taking fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen before returning to school.

If your child has a high fever, greater than 101°, or a temperature that is high for your child, contact your health care provider’s office to get help with managing the signs and symptoms.

Be sure to contact your school and let the secretaries know if your student is ill and will not be attending school for any reason.

    Stay Healthy,

    Susan Windnagel, RN
