Dear 8th grade students and families,
It’s time to begin planning for your student’s transition to high school. In order to help support this exciting move, we are inviting you to our annual 8th Grade Family Night on Thursday, March 28th, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the MBHS Auditorium.
At this meeting we will talk about ways we support your student both academically and emotionally, we will look at specific high school graduation requirements, and we will walk you and your student through the process of registering for 9th grade classes.
Attendance at this event is extremely important and we hope that you can make it. We are looking forward to meeting you and starting to work with your 8th grader throughout the course of the spring and into next year.
Upcoming 8th-9th grade transition events:
March 25-28 - 8th graders see demonstrations of high school electives during Base Camp
March 28 - 8th Grade Family Night (students & families should attend)
Mid-April - High school counselors meet with 8th grade students
Mid-May - 8th graders tour high school campus
Mid-May - 8th graders learn about extracurricular activities during Base Camp
Late August - Students attend 9th grade orientation and receive final class schedule
