Weekly Update from the Superintendent

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Community Members:

I want to let you know about a great opportunity for our youth.  The Mount Baker Community Coalition’s Learn, Serve, and Earn Program is an opportunity for youth 14 years and older to gain knowledge of healthy coping strategies, substance misuse prevention education, connect with peers, and earn up to $300.00.

Congratulations to our Track and Field athletes for their accomplishments at the State Track and Field Event in Yakima:

  • Alex Maloley 5th in the javelin
  • Ethan Larson 5th in the shot put
  • Landon Smith 7th in shot put
  • Ellie Hanstead, Jane Lentz, Natalie Horsmon, Erica Cook 7th in the 4 x 400 relay

I am looking forward to seeing some amazing science projects at the Kendall Elementary Science Fair this evening.  The Acme Spring Carnival will be a lot of fun tomorrow evening.  I understand both these events have food trucks available, so you can skip making dinner and just enjoy these fun events at our elementary schools.

Our Seniors are wrapping up their high school requirements this week.  Tomorrow evening is Senior Honors Night in the Mount Baker High School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.  Congratulations to the class of 2023.  Graduation will be next Thursday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. We wish our graduates the best with their post-high school plans.

Have a wonderful evening!

Sincerely,

Mary Sewright, Superintendent
