Weekly Update from the Superintendent

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Community Members:

Thank you so much for a great Mountaineer year!  While there have been challenges, we have a lot to be proud of this year.  Students accomplished great things academically and with extra-curricular activities.

I want to thank my superintendent advisory students for sharing their voice and making me smarter about the support they need.  I want to thank my parent advisory group for engaging in our school community and exploring possibilities for Baker.  I want to thank all staff for showing up every day giving their all to serve students and families.  I want to thank the Mount Baker School Board for their support and care of our school community!  Finally, a big thank you to our parents and amazing community members for all of their support and guidance! Together, we make great things happen!

All MBSD facilities will be closed Monday, June 19 as we honor the federal holiday Juneteenth National Independence Day, commemorating the emancipation of African American slaves which happened on June 19, 1865.

This Sunday is Father’s Day!  A huge shout out for our Baker dads, granddads, uncles, and father figures! We appreciate all you do for our students and community!

My next Wednesday update will be August 16 at 5:45 p.m.

Best wishes for a wonderful summer!

Go Baker!

Sincerely,

Mary Sewright, Superintendent
