My name is Michelle Long and I am the Ferndale High School Equestrian Team Adviser this year. Your school has had students Co-op with our team, hosted by Ferndale High School, in previous years. We compete in every discipline and have several team events. There is something for every rider at every skill level, although it is required that they have their own access to a horse. We compete in the Lynden Arena at the Fairgrounds. We are in a District competing with four other schools: Sedro Woolley, Stanwood, Cedar Crest and Snohomish. Our "season" runs October 1st - June 30th. Our athletes are passionate about what they do and work hard to compete. It was a very successful year for us as a team. Several of our students qualified to compete at a State level in Moses Lake. In pre-COVID years several athletes were invited as a top 5 team in Washington to compete against the top five Oregon teams at a Regional Invitational Championship. At State we took the Medium Team Trophy, earning more individual points than any other team. We are striving to do as well again this year with an even stronger team.
There will be a registration/new member's meeting for the new season on Monday, September 27th at 6:30 PM at the Ferndale Public Library.
