Weekly Update from the Superintendent

September 22, 2021

Dear students, staff, families and community,

Fall officially began today.  Ending the summer with a rain and wind storm along with power outages was a good reminder that we need to be prepared for inclement weather.  We will send out alerts via email, robocalls, and the media if school is impacted by inclement weather and post the information at www.mtbaker.wednet.edu.

Our transportation is doing a tremendous job with minimal drivers and staff.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work out issues that arise.  We are recruiting and training drivers and hope to avoid having to alter or cancel routes in the future.  If you or anyone you know may be interested in pursuing a bus driver position, please check out this link for more information.  We would love to add to our amazing team!

Please take a few minutes to complete the Family Income Survey if you have not already.  This information will help us better serve families and secure grants and funding for programs.

It is fun to have some student activities and events move back toward normal.  The Mountaineer Band will be performing and representing Mount Baker School District in the Leavenworth Autumn Leaf Parade this Saturday.  We are proud of our Mountaineer Musicians!

Go Baker!

Sincerely,

Mary Sewright, Superintendent | msewright@mtbaker.wednet.edu | (360) 617-4600
