Mount Baker FFA Ag Mech Team Wins State Title

For the second year in a row, the Mt. Baker FFA Agriculture Technology and Mechanics team won the state title on Saturday, April 16th in Moses Lake, WA.  Students competed in MIG and stick welding, fumigation, surveying and land measurement, small gas engines, electrical controls, electric motors, a difficult team financial problem, tractor parts identification, welding symbols and measurement, and a general knowledge test.  A total of 24 teams and 115 students competed from across the state.

Collin Favro placed 3rd, Elias Kelly placed 5th, and Kyle Sandvig placed 7th.  Jayden Yates and Wilhem Maloley also placed high and did very well. They will go on to compete at Nationals in Indianapolis in November.

These students worked very hard all year, everyone was a rookie except Collin.  They practiced two nights over spring break and every Monday since November of 2021.

Congratulations!
