Weekly Update from the Superintendent

Dear students, staff, families and community,

There will be no school this Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.  Veterans Day is a good time to remember that our freedom isn’t guaranteed.  It is protected by the men and women in our Armed Services.  Thank you to those who have served, and those who continue to serve.  Happy Veterans Day!

The Mountaineer’s Varsity Football Team had a big win this past week.  We wish them a loud and proud GO BAKER as they head to the state playoffs at Tenino High School Friday at 7:00 p.m.  We had two cross country athletes participate at the state level last weekend.  Congratulations to Jorey Johnson and Erica Cook.

Don’t forget to join us for Mount Baker High School’s Drama Production of PUFFS on November 10 and 12 at 7 p.m. and November 13 at 2 p.m. You can access more information on our website. Next week there is a band concert on Thursday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m.  In addition, high school basketball and wrestling begins as well as auditions for the high school musical.

Chromebooks have been fully distributed in preparation for any remote learning days that may occur due to an emergency including inclement weather.  Stay informed regarding school closures, inclement weather, and transportation changes/issues through our Inclement Weather Line at (360) 383-2070, FLASHALERT, Mobile Apps, and the Website Live Feed.

Have a wonderful three-day weekend!

Sincerely,

Mary Sewright, Superintendent
