Mt. Baker FFA won the Mt. Baker FFA Ag Mechanics CDE in December, where 13 teams and 133 students participated. Wyatt Zender was 2nd place individual, Colby Skelton was 5th, and Ben Brooks was 10th.
Mt. Baker FFA placed 5th at the Ferndale and Burlington-Edison FFA Ag Mechanics CDE. Top individuals at Ferndale were Wyatt Zender in 6th place, and Colby Skelton in 14th place. Top individuals at Burlington-Edison were Caven Anderson in 8th place, and Colby Skelton in 13th place.
Mt. Baker FFA placed 3rd at the District 1 Ag Mechanics CDE at Stanwood High School on March 16. Students competed in welding, small gas engines, residential electrical, skid steer parts identification and manual, surveying, and roofing/concrete construction. This team of mostly rookies has worked hard and made significant progress this year. The state team will include Wyatt Zender, Colby Skelton, Caven Anderson, Mikele Fairbanks, and Ruth Cranbourne, and will travel to Perry Tech in Yakima, WA to compete on March 26.

Mt. Baker FFA placed 2nd at the Toutle Lake Forestry Contest. Ray Klinesmith was 5th place, Jillian Harris was 9th place, and Emilija Merta was 10th place. Other participants included Willow Cook, Dylan Dixon, Elijah Knutzen, and James Kalsbeek.

Mt. Baker FFA placed 1st and 2nd at the Mt. Baker Forestry Contest on March 14 at Kalsbeekās River property, where seven teams and 30 individuals competed. Top ten individuals: 1st place Emilija Merta, 2nd place Ray Klinesmith, 3rd place Ben Brooks, 4th place Willow Cook, 7th place Elijah Knutzen, 9th place Wyatt Zender, 12th place Jillian Harris, and 13th place James Kalsbeek.

Mt. Baker FFA placed 1st and 2nd in Parliamentary Procedure at Sub-Districts. Mt. Baker Red placed 1st with Joseph Abitia (Chair), Willa Brown, Casey Pinkey, Hazel Grout, Lida Corado, and Emerald Scott. Mt. Baker Black placed 2nd with Ruth Cranbourne (Chair), Andrew Compton, Caleb Cooper, Fox Currit, Brayden Farley, Mikele Fairbanks, Arianna Woodin, and Ray Klinesmith.
Public Speaking
Lida Corado placed 2nd in Sub-Districts in Prepared Public Speaking with her speech on Monopoliesā Impact on Agriculture; she will move on to Districts. Mikele Fairbanks presented his speech on Reforestation.
Joseph Abitia Placed 5th in Sub-Districts in Extemporaneous Public Speaking.
Employment Skills
Mt. Baker FFA was the 4th place team at the Cedarcrest Contest! Joseph Abitia was 10th individual. Other participants included Joseph Abitia, Jayden Gauf, Brayden Farley, Marlin Perez, and Jordin Klein.
At Districts, Joseph Abitia was 8th individual. Other participants included Jayden Gauf, Brayden Farley, Jordin Klein.
