Mount Baker Junior High School is looking forward to seeing all of our new 7th graders at orientation on Tuesday, August 29th at 12:45 in the auditorium! We will cover some back to school basics, answer questions, and provide schedules . There will also be time to find classrooms prior to the first day of school!

Hey Baker families! Mount Baker Junior High School is excited to invite you to this year's 6th grade orientation taking place on Thursday, May 25 from 7:00-8:00 PM in the auditorium.
This orientation is for all incoming 6th graders who will be 7th graders next year. We will cover a lot of information that you won't want to miss. Additionally, there will be time for you and your student to walk campus and get a feel for the layout prior to fall.

Spring Testing Week for all students at Mount Baker Junior / Senior High will be held next week, April 24-28. Students in 7th and 10th grade will take the Smarter Balanced tests in math and English language arts. Students in 11th grade will take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). Students in 8th grade will take all three assessments. The results from these tests will give a more accurate picture of whether students are on track to be ready for high school and beyond. Testing will occur on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week. Students will arrive at school at the normal time and attend their Period 1 class. They will then go to Base Camp which will be two hours in length to accommodate testing. There will be no testing on Wednesday and the secondary campus will follow its normal early release schedule.
During this week, 9th-grade students will take part in the Snow Goose field trip and complete coursework in order to stay on track to pass their spring classes. After they complete the WCAS on Monday, 11th-grade students will participate in state-required sexual education modules. 12th-grade students will use this week to focus on their PRIDE presentations and attend post-graduation seminars. Tuesday, 2/28/2023 - Mount Baker School District will be on a two-hour delay for today, February 28. Snow routes will be in effect. Morning preschool is canceled.. There will be no out of district transportation. Another communication will be issued at 7:30 with any updates or changes. UPDATE ON ACME AREA BUSES: Thursday, 10/20/2022 - The road closure in the Acme/Glenhaven area is still in effect. The buses are being rerouted to drop off the JH/HS students, then will turn around and pick up the Acme students to take home (Acme students are still currently at the school). If you prefer to pick up your student, please call the Acme office at 360-383-2045.
Thursday, 10/20/2022 - Glenhaven/Acme area buses are currently stuck due to a road closure from a fire in the area. Those buses are running approximately 1 hour behind. Acme Elementary students will be riding buses home with the JH/HS students. It is possible that the buses will be late dropping off Acme Elementary students as well as the JH/HS students. We will send out an update as needed.
UPDATE ON ACME AREA BUSES: Thursday, 10/20/2022 - Hwy 9 is now open. All Acme/Glenhaven junior high, senior high, and elementary students are on buses and being transported home.
Wednesday, 10/19/2022 - all Mount Baker JH/HS Athletic practices and events - except for volleyball and varsity football (practicing indoors) - have been cancelled for today due to the diminishing air quality. Thank you for your understanding.

Tuesday, 10/18/2022 - Kendall/Glacier area families - due to road construction, the Kendall area buses will be up to 10 minutes late, and the Glacier area buses up to 20 minutes late. Thank you for your patience.

Save the date! MBJH Parent conferences are Thursday, October 20 from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM and Friday, October 21 from 12:30-3:00 PM. Conferences will be held in the cafeteria and will be arena-style which means families can show up without a reservation and speak with all of their student's teachers. We hope to see you!
