āIn order to measure the Covid learning gap, MBJH will be administering the FastBridge reading and math assessments Oct 11-14. These quick, computer adaptive assessments will help us identify areas of strength and challenge among our students. If at all possible, please send students to school with their own wired ear-buds. If your student does not have wired ear-buds, we will provide some!

MBJH Families: In order to better align with the high school's afternoon programing, we are going to shift the start time of the 7th grade (and new 8th grade) orientation slightly from 12:30 to 12:45 PM.
The agenda is below:
12:45-1:00 PM Schedules pick-up in Auditorium near the flag pole in the main parking lot
1:00-1:30 PM Orientation Overview in Auditorium -- masks required
1:30-2:00 PM Students can familiarize themselves with campus and their classrooms by walking the campus. Teachers will be on hand to help direct and answer questions. Students will *not* be moving through a mock bell schedule -- they will be free to walk campus and really learn the location of their classes. We've learned over the years that this is what students and families have requested -- time to walk campus and catch up with friends instead of a ten minute overview of classes which typically happens on the first day of school anyway :-)
As you likely know, masks are required by WA State law for anyone inside of our buildings.
Thanks!

Just a reminder: The junior high will not be offering a fully remote program this year due to a lack of family interest. If you do not plan on your student coming to school in person, please contact the Mount Baker Academy to discuss home schooling options! https://www.mtbaker.wednet.edu/o/mba

Mount Baker will be providing breakfast and lunch to students AT NO COST to families for the 2021-2022 school year! For more information, call Child Nutrition at (360) 383-2024.
