Weekly Update from the Superintendent

April 20, 2022

Dear students, staff, families and community,

We are experiencing an increasing number of students absent from school due to the Norovirus.  This is a highly infectious virus that is transmitted through contact with infected individuals, contaminated food or water, and contaminated surfaces.  To prevent further spread of the virus it is important that students stay home if they are sick, thoroughly wash hands on a regular basis, and sanitize surfaces frequently.  For more information use this link to the Washington State Department of Health Norovirus information page.

Mount Baker Junior High and High School conferences are this week.  Thursday, April 21 conferences will be held 5:00 to 7:30 PM.  Friday, April 22 conferences are from 12:30 to 3:00 PM with students being released early at 12:00 PM.  We look forward to connecting with families in support and recognition of our secondary students.  We want all students to finish out this school year on track.

Congratulations to the Mount Baker FFA Agriculture Technology and Mechanics Team for winning the Washington State title for the second year in a row.  Check out the rigorous requirements involved in this competition.

The Mount Baker Plant Sale is next week.  The Greenhouse Management Class has done a tremendous job growing a variety of plants.  Use this link for more details about the on-line and in-person sales, including a list of all the plants available.

Have a wonderful evening!
